Fun Invitation Tutorial

Happy Tutorial Tuesday everyone! It's Joni here with a fun party invitation that can be made with any of your favorite Whimsie Doodles image. {Please note that I used a standard card sized envelope (an A2 size in the US measures 4 3/8 inches by 5 3/4 inches), but you can use any envelope size you desire.}

For my little project you will need the following supplies:

printer (if you use a digi image)
A2 sized envelope (unsealed)
scrap paper
decorative scissors or border punch
coloring medium
A2 piece of cardstock
embellishments

First, print off or stamp your favorite Whimsie Doodles image directly on to the envelope front:

I used the adorable cake from the digital Party Monster set for my DD's birthday party invites.
Next trim the side of your envelope (the top of the image) with decorative scissors:

Now slip in a piece of scrap paper inside the envelope. This will absorb any ink when you color, since envelopes are thinner in weight and markers may bleed through.

After coloring your image, create an 'insert' with an A2 sized piece of cardstock:

Finally, seal the envelope's flap and slip the insert in.

Voila! A fun little party invitation that you can hand out to friends! This is also a cute way to use up envelopes in any size, or those that have sealed themselves over time. ;) You can use any of the adorable Whimsie Doodles image for this project to make invites, thank you notes, or birthday cards as well. And if you try this tutorial out, be sure to let us know so we can come by and admire your work!

Thank you for coming by everyone! Have a wonderful Tuesday.
