Today's Tuesday Tutorial: Create a Pop-Up Card!

We are so lucky to have Linda as our January Guest Designer, and we were ecstatic to have her create this tutorial based on her adorable pop-up card!  This fantastic little creation folds flat for mailing and then stands freely for display, making it perfect for any special occasion!

by Linda Cummings (January Guest Designer)
Create a pop-up card that folds flat for mail!

Supplies
Paper cutter
Scoring tool and bone folder
Craft knife
Ruler
Small heart punch
Corner Rounder
Circle punch
Scalloped Circle punch
14” Ribbon
Double-sided tape
Whimsie Doodles image and sentiment  (colored & cut out)
11” x 4 1/4” cardstock (card)
5” x 3” cardstock (pop-up)
4” x 1 1/2” (2) pattern paper

Directions:
1. Score the 11” x 4 1/4” piece of cardstock at 1”, 2 3/4”, 3 3/4”, 5 1/2”, 7 1/4”, 8 1/4”, and 10”.
2. Crease the score lines.
3. On the middle score line (5 1/2”) make a mark ½” from both sides.

7. Create pop-up piece with Whimsie Doodles image and 5” x 3” cardstock.
8. Slide pop-up piece into slit.
9. Attach pop-up piece to one piece of the double-sided tape. Make sure pop-up piece is centered and lines up with the bottom of the card piece. Adhere pop-up to second piece of tape.

10. Embellish 1” front of card with ribbon and circle cut Whimsie Doodles sentiment.
11. Card will fold up to fit into envelope.

Tuesday Tutorial...Counting Down the Days!

For this week's Tuesday Tutorial, we thought it would be fun to show you an adorable project for the Sweet Little Somethin' in your life!
What better way to remind your special someone that you love them than by counting down the days until Valentine's Day?
Check out this super cute countdown calendar!

Step 1-Punch out 14 dog tags (or cut 14 rectangles approx 1"x2.75")

Step 2-Punch holes in coasters and dog tags using the Zutter.

Step 3-Decorate the front of the calendar with DP, border punch, ribbon and Label 4.

Step 4-Stamp about 16 hearts in black ink. (I always stamp more images then needed in case I mess one or two up).

Step 5-Cut out the hearts. (I like to leave a white border when cutting out an image to make it look like a sticker).

Step 6-Loop Zutter coil through the coasters and dog tags . Close coils.

(only put 3 tags on the far left of calendar and 10 tags to the right. if you want to start your countdown with 30 days)

Step 7-Glue hearts onto dog tags and add numbers one for each heart.  Starting with the far left side with 3,2 and 1.  Then add the numbers onto the dog tags on the right side starting with 0,9,8,7,6 all the way to 1.

Step 8-Cut a strip of paper 3.75"x2". Create an accordian fold by scoring along the 3.75" side every .25".

Step 9-Attach to the inside of both coasters.

Materials: L'il Cupid stamps-Whimsie Doodles, Zutter and coil, 2 coasters, black ribbon, letter and number stickers Memory Makers, Dog Tag punch, Labels 4-Spellbinders, markers
