Sponged Sunset Tutorial

Hi everyone, today's tutorial is all about making a cool sunset using sponge daubers and post-its.  And of course ink!
Materials needed
Shadow stamp image -Harley Bikes-Bombshell Stamps
Shiny surface cardstock (Gina K)
Yellow, orange and black ink
3 small sponges
Post it notes (for masking)
Circle punch or cutter

Here's the card I made sponging a sunset or sunrise, depends on your perspective!

Step 1
Ink up your sponge using yellow ink.  Apply the ink starting from the top and pulling toward the bottom of the page.
Step 2
Cut a circle out of a post it note (or scrap paper) and place it onto the page where you want the moon to be.
Step 3
Ink up your sponge with orange ink.
Apply the ink starting from the top and pulling toward the bottom of the page.
Be careful around the post it “moon”.
Step 4
When finished gently remove the post it “moon”.  Tweezers or finger nails work best for this.

Step 5
For a little added dimension, Sponge a little yellow in a half moon shape onto the bottom left side of the moon.
Step 6
Stamp your image in black ink.

Step 7
Cut a piece of post it note (or scrap paper) in a wavy line.  Apply it under the stamped image.
Step 8
Sponge the “ground” with black ink pulling the ink down.
Step 9
Repeat step 8 as desired

**For best results you must use a type of cardstock with a shiny surface.  This allows the ink to freely move around and blend easily.   A matt finish will absorb the ink too quickly and not allow the ink to spread evenly.
