Say Cheese!

Hi everyone and happy Sunday,

It's Andrea here. Today I would like to share a card I made with the super sweet Photo Lizzie.
She is one of my favourite images, she is just so cute and I want her retro camera!  I found the perfect paper pad to go along with her with great strong, bold colours.

I hope you like her!  More details on the supplies I used can be found on my blog.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Happy crafting.

Cupcake Sweetness

Hi everyone, it's Andrea here.  My doodlelicious make today features the very sweet Treat Lizzie. Isn't she the cutest and just look at the size of the cupcake she is holding - what I would do for one of those right now!! I LOVE cupcakes! Lizzie was just begging to be paired with some sweet candy coloured papers....so girly!  This image would be perfect for our current monthly challenge where the theme is All about the Ladies.   It would be great to see all your girly makes, you have till the 13th March to enter.

Further details on my card can be found on my blog. That's it from me today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for popping by.

Cozy Lizzie

Happy Monday everyone, we are another day closer to Santa arriving - yay.  It’s Andrea here with my very first post as a Doodlelicious Diva – yippee.  I am so thrilled to be part of this fantastic teamWe have a great bunch of talented ladies,  your going to be blown away with their makes!

So, a little about myself…..I’m a Scottish girl but I'm currently living 'down under' in sunny Sydney, Australia! I decided to take a few months off work in 2010 to see the world... and I never quite made it back home!!  On my travels I was lucky enough to meet some fantastic people one being my husband!  Travelling is definitely one of my passions, the other is, you've guessed it....making cards!

I first gave card-making a try way back in 2007. I bought a ton of supplies but only ended up making a handful of cards before work, life and then travel got in the way. I decided to take it up again about a year ago and was amazed at how much it had changed – so many supplies, dies, digital sites and I discovered Copics!!  Now I’m absolutely obsessed and my stash is growing at a phenomenal rate! There are just so many awesome products out there that I just have to have!  I’ve been a huge fan of Whimsie Doodles ever since I first discovered digital stamps. I love how adorable and fun they are.  If I had to describe my style I would say clean and layered with added cute - that's where Melyssa images come in!  You may have already seen a couple of my makes as I was lucky enough to be guest designer for Whimsie Doodles in November :)

Talking of cute, for my card today I have used the adorable Winter Lizzie.
I have made a Christmas card here but she could just as easily be used for a winter birthday card too.

I love her outfit, she looks so warm and cozy.  I used a mixture of dies and a stencil to create the wintery scene. For her fluffy hood and boots I used white Flowersoft and Stickles Glitter Glue. Here's a close-up.

That's it from me today. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope Santa is good to you and fills your stockings with crafting goodies.

Feel free to come and visit me at weeblueswirls.blogspot.com.au.  I’m a blogging newbie and would love to make some crafty friends.
See you all next year!

Hugs Andrea x

Sweet Dreams

Happy Wednesday Whimsie Doodles fans!
Laura here today, and I have a sneaky peek to share with you!

This sweet little girly is Bedtime Lizzie, and will be available soon along with some additional cute digis... so keep your eyes on the What's New page at the store!

I colored Lizzie with Copics, and paper pieced her PJ's and kitty friend. Then cut her out and popped her up on the card next to the sentiment, and scattered a few die cut stars to fill the white space.
Simple and sweet!

That's all for today!
Thanks so much for visiting!

2 Cute to Spook

Happy Tuesday!! Melyssa here and I've got a little Halloween card to share with you. I kept it real simple. I printed and coloured the image (Little Witch) and simply used it as my card. A little shadow serves to "ground" the image then add a sentiment and your done.
You can find the digi Little Witch here. http://www.whimsiedoodles.com/whats-new.html

I used a white gel pen to make the polka dots, Copics to colour the image and chalk to blush the cheeks.

So fairy sweet!

Ooohhhh, only 2 more sleeps to go and it's CHRISTMAS!!!!   Okay, I'm a bit sick of making Christmas cards so I decided to make something SWEET instead!  So here is my DT make....

Oh, I just love sweet Fairy!  I can't decide whether to make this into a thank you or thinking of you card so I've left it plain inside too when I find the appropriate moment!  I used My Minds Eye papers, a Cuttlebug embossing folder and some sweet flat backed iridescent pearls for the corners.  Oh, and lots of Glamour Dust on her wings - she really sparkles in real life!

Ok, this is my last Whimsie Doodle DT post for 2012  have a fab Christmas and New Year and see you on the 2 January with a new project!

How to make a Faux Picture Frame

Hi all, Melyssa here and I have a card to show you that I started a little while ago but never got around to finishing it. I started by making a Faux picture frame and hanging onto the front of a card.  Then I printed, coloured and framed the image.  Add some embellies and it's done!

Here's how to make a faux picture frame.
1. Cut a square from "wood" pattern paper or wood grain stamped paper
2. Next cut a smaller square out of the center to make a frame.
3. Fold the corners to create a diagnol crease and ink edges
4. Add 3D foam squares to raise the frame
5. Hang it with some twine and a small brad (nail)

Here's my card.

Best Witches from Witch Lizzie

Hi Everyone!
DT Member Marlene here from ScrappinCookie!
Thank You for joining me here today at Whimsie Doodles!

Although Halloween is more than a month away, I couldn't wait to color up the NEW "Lizzie Standing Witch" from Whimsie Doodles' September Release. She is soo ADORABLE and I just LOVE her long wavy hair.

You can find her in the "What's New" section of the Whimsie Doodles Store during the month of September. Afterwards, be sure to look for her in the "Holidays & Events - Halloween" section of the store.

"Lizzie Standing Witch" was colored with a mixture of my PrismaColor Pencils and Crayola Color Pencils. I added a small touch of Frosted Lace Stickles to her skirt and hat band.

I also added her to the inside of my card. Using MS Word I cropped and recolored the image before printing it.

Be sure to check out the Whimsie Doodles Store for more ADORABLE images.

You Go Girl

Happy Monday!!  Melyssa here and it's my first post of September for Whimsie Doodles.  Today's card is a little late for it's theme since school has already started but maybe you can use it as a card for the first test, or report card or making the sports team.

Bewitchingly sweet!

Happy Sunday everyone!  It's Mary J here and this is my very first Whimsie Doodle DT post!  I will be here every day where there's a 2 in the date as well as joining in with the new releases and challenges - so you'll be seeing lots of me!

Today I thought I'd tease you with a sneaky peek - here is my card using Flying Lizzie Witch along with a sentiment from the new Halloween Sentiments set...

Isn't Lizzie beautiful?  Her hair is always such a pleasure to colour in!  And the sentiment set matches her perfectly!  I used papers from My Minds Eye Blackbird and stamped some extra flourishes to add some interest.  Here's a closer look at her...

You don't have long to wait to get your hands on this cutie.  She will be in the shop in the What's New section on 5 September when we will also be showcasing more of the newbies on the blog here - so see you then!
