Warmest Holiday Wishes

Hi Whimsie Doodles Fans,

It's Andrea here today sharing yet another Christmas card! Not long to go now till Santa arrives... yikes only 12 days to go!

I have to say I love Christmas and making Christmas cards, and with all the amazing festive digi's available in the Whimsie Store I am totally spoiled for choice. For my card today I used some very cozy looking penguins.

I coloured the penguins in with my copics and fuzzy cut them out. I paired them up with some designer paper and layered them onto black card before mounting the image onto my card base.  I stamped the sentiment onto some scrap card and mounted it onto the base.  I also added some doodlebug sprinkles, glossy accents and enamel accents to complete the scene. I hope you like it.
For more information on the supplies I used please pop over to my blog.

Have a great weekend and see you soon.
Hugs Andrea x

Skates for Christmas

Hi everyone!  It's Susie and I'm here to show you this card using

When I saw this image, I knew exactly how I would color it.  I wanted it to look rather vintage, so I selected soft hues of coral and green.

I can't wait to mail this card along with some other Christmas cards this week.  I hope you are making cards too - it makes the most wonderful time
of the year even more so!

This card is on my blog today, and I'd love for you
to visit me whenever you can.

Make it a great day!

Snow Stuck

Hi Whimsie Doodles Fans,

It's Andrea here, wishing you a happy Friday.

Can you believe there are only 34 days till Christmas - arghh! Where has the time gone.  I hope you are all managing to get your Christmas cards done. Today I would like to share a card I made using one of Melyssa's adorable snowman.  This super fun image is called Snow Stuck and can be found here.

I decided to use some bright non-traditional colours for my card, and used lots of glitter and some glossy accents on the candy.

If you would like to know what supplies I used please pop along to my blog.

Have a great Friday, see you again soon

Quick Penguin Tags

Hey all -  Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!  I know I'm not the only one that thinks it flew by WAAAAY too quickly this year!!!

So despite having been on bed rest & IV fluids for almost the first half of the year and having a baby at the end of September, I got it in my head that I needed to make this an almost completely handmade Christmas.  And all I have to say to that is WHOOPS.  haha!

I covered composition books for the kids' teachers (at the teachers' request!!) and stuck them in a flat white paper bag and then added these super cute penguin tags.  I printed this adorable image 'Penguins' (in the Christmas section) at about 2" wide and punched them out with my super huge tag punch... and then colored them in with my Copics.

And of course, I started making the composition books and tags two days before I needed to hand them out and took really quick pictures of them as I was sticking them in the bag!!!  Artificial lighting and an exhausted mama at 3am = dark pictures!!  I'm sorry about that but I was too pooped to do anything about it!!

I'm still really happy with how these tags came out though!!  These penguins are too cute!  But never again am I going to get the grand idea to handmake teacher gifts two days before they're due!!!  haha!!

Happy Christmas from Doodleicous Diva Christine!!

Hi All...

I know it's soooo close to Christmas and that you'll all be mad busy, but I'm popping in to introduce myself as one of the new Doodleicous Divas!  I'm so excited to be joining this fab fun team..  and to work with Melyssa's GORGEOUS images!!

Now a bit about me...  my name is Christine, and I live in a beautiful part of Yorkshire, UK. As we've only lived here for 5 years - we love exploring when we get time.   I am a very young-at-heart crafter who has a very patient and wonderful OH who always supports me in my love of this fabulous hobby. He often waits around for hours in craft shops - and never gets impatient!  I also have two very beautiful grown up daughters who I'm so very proud of - but I don't have grandchildren... yet!!

I've been a crafter for many years, I think I've gone through all the phases including embroidery and jewellery making.. but my passion has to be papercraft!  I would say my style has to be classed as 'girlie' - as I have a tremendous love of pink with lots of added glitter and bling!  I love experimenting with shading and use mostly Copics - but would like to properly learn to use the Distress Inks and Inktense pencils which lie in my crafty stash!!

But enough about me and onto my card...

I created this card for a lovely friend of mine and chose to use Ugg Leah available amongst the other fabulous images in the Christmas section of the shop HERE.

I used an embossing folder for the snow..  then added a bit of torn card for the snow bank she's standing on... of course, it had to have added glitter!  I added more pink card edged with a Martha Stewart die..  a bit of twine with a snowflake charm... then a PC generated sentiment and it was done.

That's it from me for today....  I'd love it if you'd like to pop by my blog here - Cards by Christine - to say hello or for more details of any of the cards I make.

All that is left is for me to wish you and yours a

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Big hugs
Christine x

Hello from Doodlelicious Diva Larisa

Well, Hello there!  Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself in the midst of this busy holiday season.  No doubt you are finishing up your holiday shopping right about now and are hopefully ready for the fun and magic that awaits!  Personally, I am running around like a crazy person which is always what happens right before Christmas.  I usually have way too much on my plate and never enough time :)  But enough about that... I'm supposed to introduce myself!

Hello, my name is Larisa Hohman and I'm a craft-a-holic!  Like many crafters, I have been doing this for quite some time.  (about 15 years).  I started with scrapbooking and eventually discovered Copic markers.  That was all it took, I was hooked!  It opened a world of crafting possibilities that I didn't even know existed.  $2 Bizillion dollars later... I now have a decent stash of Copics and like Kel, I also have an out-of-control supply of crafting "stuff."  I would ask if there's a support group I can join, but let's be honest, I don't really want to get "better" :)

I am happily married to my sweet hubby of 8 years and just recently had an adorable baby boy.  He is the MOST amazing thing that has ever happened to me and we are so blessed to have him!  I am a high school English teacher (but please don't grade my grammar)  and a part time senior photographer.  I love to bake, watch scary movies, and spend time with my little one.  Oh, and of course I LOVE stamping.  I can't tell you how excited I am to be apart of this Design team.  I have been a fan of Whimsie Doodles since the day they started and I've just been waiting for them to have a DT call.  I can't wait to share my creations with you so be sure to visit my blog and check out all my projects :)
Ok, thanks for letting me chat your ear off.  Sometimes I can be a little long winded :)

Now, on to the cards:

For this sweet little card, I used Stocking Goodies.  This is one of my absolute favorite stamps.  I just love how cute she is in her PJ's, checking to see what Santa left her!  I just colored her up with my Copics, found some cute holiday paper, and there you go!  The sentiment is also from Whimsie Doodles.  It's part of the Holiday Sentiments Collection.

Now, I couldn't stop there... remember, I told you I'm a craft-a-holic!  So I also created a card with this little guy.  This is Happy Elf.  Isn't he just the cutest!  The minute I saw him, I knew I had to make a card with him!  I decided to really bling this one out and make it fun!  So, I added some ornament stickers to the top and some random snowflake stamps.  What a cutie!

And that's all folks!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a Merry and Safe Christmas!

Cozy Lizzie

Happy Monday everyone, we are another day closer to Santa arriving - yay.  It’s Andrea here with my very first post as a Doodlelicious Diva – yippee.  I am so thrilled to be part of this fantastic teamWe have a great bunch of talented ladies,  your going to be blown away with their makes!

So, a little about myself…..I’m a Scottish girl but I'm currently living 'down under' in sunny Sydney, Australia! I decided to take a few months off work in 2010 to see the world... and I never quite made it back home!!  On my travels I was lucky enough to meet some fantastic people one being my husband!  Travelling is definitely one of my passions, the other is, you've guessed it....making cards!

I first gave card-making a try way back in 2007. I bought a ton of supplies but only ended up making a handful of cards before work, life and then travel got in the way. I decided to take it up again about a year ago and was amazed at how much it had changed – so many supplies, dies, digital sites and I discovered Copics!!  Now I’m absolutely obsessed and my stash is growing at a phenomenal rate! There are just so many awesome products out there that I just have to have!  I’ve been a huge fan of Whimsie Doodles ever since I first discovered digital stamps. I love how adorable and fun they are.  If I had to describe my style I would say clean and layered with added cute - that's where Melyssa images come in!  You may have already seen a couple of my makes as I was lucky enough to be guest designer for Whimsie Doodles in November :)

Talking of cute, for my card today I have used the adorable Winter Lizzie.
I have made a Christmas card here but she could just as easily be used for a winter birthday card too.

I love her outfit, she looks so warm and cozy.  I used a mixture of dies and a stencil to create the wintery scene. For her fluffy hood and boots I used white Flowersoft and Stickles Glitter Glue. Here's a close-up.

That's it from me today. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope Santa is good to you and fills your stockings with crafting goodies.

Feel free to come and visit me at weeblueswirls.blogspot.com.au.  I’m a blogging newbie and would love to make some crafty friends.
See you all next year!

Hugs Andrea x

Happy Holidays!

Hi!!  I am so excited to be part of this super fun team!!

My name is Kelli, but I tend to go by kel.  I'm a happily married mom to 3 boys, ages 10, 7, and 2 1/2 months.  Yikes!  That^^^ pic is with #3 the morning after he was born!  My life is full of crazy and my boys keep me on my toes!!  I live in beautiful Kaneohe, Hawaii on the island of Oahu... I was born and raised on the island and never wanted to leave!  I am a non-traditional college student on break from pursuing a double major in History and Asian studies with aspirations to be a college professor.

I started scrapbooking in 2003 when pregnant with my oldest son, turned into a collector, and then started seriously creating again in 2013 because my stash grew out of control!  Who am I kidding... it's still outta control!!  haha!  I like to think of myself as a clean and simple stamper... I gravitate towards clean lines and minimal embellishments when I craft.  I LOVE patterned paper and cardstock!!  I have recently fallen in LURRRRRVE with making cards, but my real passion is for scrapbook layouts... although from my blog you might not be able to see that!  I also have tons of fun with little gifts, tags and mini-albums although the minis take so much time!

Whimsie Doodles was one of my first digi stamp purchases when I found out about digi stamps... but then it sat on my computer for AGES because I didn't know what to do with it! haha!  So glad to be part of this super fun team and looking forward to whatever comes next!!  Come visit me at my blog, Scraps & photoGRAFFS to see my fun creations and meet my beautiful family!!

Now on to my card for today... I'm using all FOUR wonderful images from the Santa & Friends set (in the middle of the "What's New" page) because I couldn't decide which one to use!  lol.

I also went with this super fun, super old (get used to seeing super old paper from me lol!!) KI Memories paper with these non-traditional Christmas colors!  Love it!

Thanks for swinging by... can you believe Christmas is only ONE WEEK away?!?!?!  So much left to do!!!

Ho ho ho!

Hi, it's Mary J again and I'm here with another Christmas card I've made using Whimsie Doodle's Santa & Friends set (again!)...

This is one of the cutest Santas EVER!  I used some Digital Design Essential papers, my Quickutz snowflake embossing folder and My Favorite Things alpha dies.

Okay, I gotta dash now - so much to do before Christmas gets here!  Have a lovely weekend all!

Mrs Claus!

Hi, it's Mary J here!  Have you all got your Christmas cards finished and posted now?  I haven't!  I thought I had mine all done but I have a massive short fall so I'm manically getting them done!!  So, here is one of the cards that I made for my Grandma...

I love this Mrs Claus - her pinny is so sweet and the way she looks over the top of her glasses is classic!  She is from the Santa & Friends set.  I thought the doily die cut would look sweet behind her and I topped it off with punched holly and berries.

Not long now until our next monthly challenge and we'll also be announcing the new design team!  Come back on 15 December to meet them all - see you then!

No Peeking!

I love to make lists! To-Do lists, shopping lists, projects ideas... I make lists for everything!
So, with Christmas coming, I wanted to have a place to jot down all of my lists for gift ideas, sizes, baking to do, and so on. I wanted to keep all of my notes in one place, and it needed to be small enough to tuck into a pocket in my purse where the kiddos wouldn't find it! My solution... one of those mini composition books, and my dollar store sells them in a 3-pack! Bingo! Cheap and easy to dress up! :)

I wanted to color up Mrs. Claus from the Santa and Friends set for the cover. After adding a little bit of Glossy Accents to her glasses, I cut her out, and popped her up in the center. The "No Peeking" sentiment seemed appropriate! :)

I had some scraps left from the cover, so I made a matching pen! I just rolled up a small strip of paper, and inserted it into the barrel of a mini gel pen.

Now I have a cute little book to keep all of my Christmas plans organized!

That's all from me!
Thanks so much for visiting today!

Watch out - it's a geeky Christmas!

Hi everybody!  Mary J here with a Christmas card for my hubby.  Now I don't tell everyone this because I like to think I'm a sophisticated lady (hah!) but I'm secretly a geek and love all things fantasy and sci-fi and luckily so is my husband!  He isn't into my card making either so it's so hard to make one that he likes but I think he's going to love this one - what do you think?

Brilliant image, huh?!  He's called Obi Wan to Kiss and he's just perfect for hubby!  I kept the layout pretty simple - he's certainly not into anything fussy which is just as well with my usual CAS style!  I used My Minds Eye papers and the label and heart dies from the SugarPea Designs Sugar Cuts Layered Treat Label set.

So before I go, just a reminder that our DT call is still open for a couple more days.  Check out this post here for all the deets.  And I'll see you again soon - ta ta for now!

Santa Knows...

Hi everyone!
Laura here today, and I wanted to let you know that Melyssa put some new digis in the store for you! Be sure to have a look!

I colored up Santa from the new Santa and Friends set, and popped him up on a simple card. He is colored with Copics and I added a little fluff to his hat and coat with a Marvy Snow Marker.

I'm thinking I might just put this up on the fridge... remind the kids that Santa is watching! ;)

Have a great Sunday, and thanks for visiting!

Oh I love him!  I used K & Company papers, A candy cane Cuttlebug embossing folder, a Lil' Inker Designs sentiment and a Paper Smooches bone die.

You can buy this little guy on his own or in the Christmas December Collection with 12 other cute and fabulous digis.  I've got the set so you'll be seeing more from this collection over the coming weeks.

Thanks for visiting and don't forget we have a DT call on at the moment - I hope you'll apply!
